Scope
of activities extends from implementing various schemes for meeting
the energy needs of rural areas to the promotion and setting
up of industrial and commercial projects for the use of non conventional
power. Besides implementing all Government sponsored programs
and projects in this sector MPUVN, creates awareness about the
benefits of energy conservation and renewable energy among users
of various forms of energy.
The Corporation has a large technically trained manpower well versed
in energy audit studies as well as consultancy studies for total energy
management for client industries. We not only conduct energy audits for
suggesting ways of saving on conventional power but also do feasibility
studies for the uses of non conventional energy in industry make pre-feasibility
reports for actually setting up non conventional power projects.We are
the only such agency in the country having a full fledged Energy Management
Cellset up exclusively for this purpose. To date energy studies have
been completed for over 450 private industries in the state.
In the
rural as well as domestic sector, the Corporation has promoted
the use of Energy efficient stoves and has also encouraged
the use of solar cookers in the households. Our promotional
efforts have made Madhya Pradesh the largest user of solar
cookers anywhere in the world. So far almost 170000 solar
cookers have been marketed through our agency in the state.
The corporation
has it's own R & D Center for Energy Studies at Indore
University. The Center develops as well as tests all kinds
of energy efficient equipment and also conducts training
programmes for industry.On our permanent rolls we employ
53 engineers with at least 7 holding postgraduate degrees
in Engineering. Thus we have with us 23 civil, 18 mechanical
and 12 electrical engineers among others.
The organisation
can use its vast experience, expertise and position in
the market place as a major agency to play a catalytic
role to effectively reach out to a very wide cross section
of energy users and make them aware of the importance of
energy conservation and renewable energy
Under the
Energy Conservation Act 2001, Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam
Ltd., Bhopal has been notified as a 'Designated Agency' of
Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) in the State of Madhya Pradesh
wide GO no.6954/3-20/13/2002 dated 20-8-2002.
A 'Demand
Side Management' Coordination Committee has also been setup
as per the provisions of the Energy Conservation Act wide
GO no. 2499/13/2003 dated 3-4-2003 in the State under the
Chairmanship of Managing Director, MPUVN, for implementation
of the energy conservation activities as per the guidance
of BEE.
