Government of India had setup a nodal department for renewable energy, which was later on converted into a full-fledged ministry, called as, Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources. State Government of Uttar Pradesh, considering the importance of harnessing of renewable energy sources in the state, setup a Department of Additional Sources of Energy and an agency, Non-conventional Energy Development Agency was created in 1983 as a registered society under the Department of Additional Source of Energy, Govt. of U.P. and it is working as a nodal agency and implementing programmes, creating awareness in general public by research & development & publicity of non-conventional devices in the field of renewable energy. |
