PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

The last date for receipt of applications / nominations for the above three Energy Conservation Award Schemes, 2005 has been extended to 28th November 2005. All interested organizations who have not submitted their nominations / applications earlier are requested to forward the same to Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Hall No. IV, 2nd floor, NBCC Tower, 15, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi 110 066 latest by 28th November 2005.

The applications / nominations format can be downloaded from the Bureau’s websites: www.bee-india.nic.in , www.energymanagertraining.com . The filled in application can be sent through e-mail on bee@energymanagertraining.com followed by dispatch of nomination / application through post / courier. Cover Letter

a) for small , medium and large scale industries
Brochure
OBJECTIVE
To give national recognition to the selected Industrial units who have made systematic and serious attempts for efficient utilization and conservation of energy during the years 2002-2003, 2003-2004 and 2004-2005.
AWARDS

First and second prizes are proposed to be given in each sub-sector in the form of a Silver Plaque with appropriate citation on such awards as may be decided by the Ministry of Power. The performance of Units would be judged through the questionnaire (format enclosed) which would be evaluated by an Award Committee.

It is not necessary to give first and second prize in each sub-sector. The Award Committee would take a final decision depending upon the number of entries received in each sub-sector and other considerations.

An industrial unit getting the First Position for the third year in a row will be eligible for a "Special Prize" for that year. The units getting Second and Third Positions in that year will be given First and Second Prize respectively. Also, the Second Prize may be given to a unit for any number of years.

The industrial unit eligible for Special Prize for 3rd year in a row would be given the highest prize, namely "Excellence Award" (instead of Special Prize) in recognization of its consistent performance. The rest of the scheme would be same as indicated for the Special Prize.

ELIGIBILITY

a) The scheme is open to all industrial units in the following sub-sectors:

Aluminium, automobile, cement, ceramics, chemicals, chlor-alkali, distillery and brewery, drugs & pharmaceuticals, dairy, edible oil/vanaspati, fertilizers, forging, foundries, glass, integrated steel, mini steel, mining, paper & pulp, petrochemicals, petroleum pipeline, refineries, refractory, sugar, steel re-rolling mill, tea, tyre, textile plants and general category.

b) From the year 2005, the following new sub-sectors are also being included in the Award Scheme:-

(i) Plastic Industry
(ii) Jute Industry
(iii) Paints & Allied Product Industry
(iv) Consumer Goods
(v) Food Processing (food & vegetable, marine products, package & food products, drinks & beverages)

c) If any industrial unit does not fall under any of the above specified sub-sectors, the unit is encouraged to send its nomination under the sub-sector “General Category”

b) for commercial buildings (private sector)
Ministry of Power invites applications from the management of Commercial buildings, (Private sector) which are making systematic attempts for efficient utilization and conservation of energy, for giving special awards for 2005 based on their performance during 2002-05. The salient features of the Award Scheme are:
ELIGIBILITY
a) The scheme is open to all buildings & building complexes in the private sector, which are engaged in the commercial activities and are having electrical connected load of 200 kW and above. (Buildings in the Government/ Public Sector to submit their applications separately under National Energy Conservation Award Scheme for Government Buildings - 2005).
b) The nominated building should be in actual use for at least above-mentioned three years.
c) Certificates to the effect that the nominated building is presently following all the statutory requirements pertaining to the fire, safety and pollution control (as applicable) should be attached along with the questionnaire.

AWARDS
Awards for the best and second best buildings will be given in the form of Silver Plaques with appropriate citations as may be decided by the Ministry of Power.
The performance of buildings would be judged through questionnaires, which would be evaluated by the Awards Committee. The decision of the Committee will be final.

c) for government buildings
Ministry of Power invites applications from the management of Government buildings, which are making systematic attempts for efficient utilization and conservation of energy, for giving special awards for 2005 based on their performance during October 2002 - September 2005. The salient features of the Award Scheme are:
ELIGIBILITY

a) The scheme is open to all buildings / building complexes of the Central / State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous/ Statutory Bodies & Institutions, and all other buildings under the administrative control of Central and State Governments and having connected load of 500 kW and above.

b) The nominated building should be in actual use for at least above mentioned three years.

c) Certifies to this effect that the nominated building is presently following all the statutory requirements pertaining to the fire, safety and pollution control (as applicable) should be attached along with the filled in questionnaire.

AWARDS

Awards for the best and second best buildings will be given in the form of Silver Plaques with appropriate citations as may be decided by the Ministry of Power.

The energy saving performance of buildings would be judged through questionnaires, which would be evaluated by the Awards Committee. The decision of the Committee will be final.
