OBJECTIVE
To give national recognition to the selected Small Scale Industrial units who have made systematic and serious attempts for efficient utilisation and conservation of energy during the years 2003-2004, 2004-2005 and 2005-2006.

AWARDS

Two awards for the best and second are proposed to be given in each sub-sectors in the form of a Silver Plaque with appropriate citation on such awards as may be decided by the Ministry of Power. The performance of Units would be judged through the questionnaire (format enclosed) which would be evaluated by an Award Committee.

It is not necessary to give first and second awards in each sub-sector. The Award Committee would take a final decision depending upon the number of entries received in each sub-sector and other considerations.

1 - SMALL SCALE INDUSTRY
Award for Excellence in Energy Conservation and Management
ELIGIBILITY
a) The scheme is open to all units in the following sub-sectors of Small Scale Industry: Re-rolling mills, Foundries and Forgings.
b) If any Small Scale industrial unit does not fall under any of the above specified sub-sectors, the unit is encouraged to send nomination under the sub-sector “General Category”.
c) The unit should be a bonafide small scale unit and should produce appropriate proof for the same from the concerned Government agency and that the certificate is valid for the period given above.
d) The unit should be in production for atleast above three years.
Important:
The annual reports for these years are required to be attached along the "Award Questionnaire".
e) Certificates to the effect that the unit is following all the statutory requirements pertaining to the safety and pollution control should be attached alongwith the questionnaire.

2 - LARGE/ MEDIUM SCALE INDUSTRY
Award for Excellence in Energy Conservation and Management
ELIGIBILITY
a) The scheme is open to all industrial units in the following sub-sectors:
Aluminium, automobile, cement, ceramics, chemicals, chlor-alkali, consumer goods, distillery and brewery, drugs & pharmaceuticals, dairy, edible oil/vanaspati, fertilizers, forging, food processing (food & vegetable, marine products, package & food products, drinks & beverages), foundries, glass, integrated steel, jute, mini steel, mining, paints & allied product industry, paper & pulp, petrochemicals, petroleum pipeline, plastic industry, refineries, refractory, sugar, steel re-rolling mill, tea, tyre, textile plants and general category.
b) If any industrial unit does not fall under any of the above specified sub-sectors, the unit is encouraged to send its nomination under the sub-sector “General Category”.
c) For Small Scale Industry, a separate questionnaire is to be filled up which can be downloaded from Bureau’s Websites: www.bee-india.nic.in & www.energymanagertraining.com
d) The industrial units in organized sectors should be in production for at least above three years (2003-06). Important: The annual reports for these years are required to be attached along with the "Award Questionnaire".
e) Certificates to this effect that the company is presently following all the statutory requirements pertaining to the safety and pollution control should be attached along with the questionnaire.

3 - OFFICE BUILDINGS
Award for Excellence in Energy Conservation and Management
ELIGIBILITY
a) The scheme is open to all OFFICE buildings, which are having connected load of 200 kW and above.
b) The nominated office building should be in actual use for at least above-mentioned three years (2003 - 06).
c) Certificates to the effect that the nominated office building is presently following all the statutory requirements pertaining to the fire, safety and pollution control (as applicable) should be attached along with the questionnaire.

4 - HOTEL AND HOSPITAL BUILDINGS
Award for Excellence in Energy Conservation and Management
ELIGIBILITY
a) The scheme is open to all HOTEL AND HOSPITAL buildings, which are having connected load of 200 kW and above (Office Buildings to submit their applications separately under National Energy Conservation Award Scheme for Office Buildings - 2006).
b) The nominated hotels and hospital building should be in actual use for at least above-mentioned three years (2003 - 06).
c) Certificates to the effect that the nominated hotel and hospital building is presently following all the statutory requirements pertaining to the fire, safety and pollution control (as applicable) should be attached along with the questionnaire.

a) The scheme is open to all SHOPPING MALL buildings, which are having connected load of 200 kW and above (Office Buildings to submit their applications separately under National Energy Conservation Award Scheme for Office Buildings - 2006).
b) The nominated SHOPPING MALL buildings should be in actual use for at least above-mentioned three years (2003 - 06).
c) Certificates to the effect that the nominated Shopping Mall building is presently following all the statutory requirements pertaining to the fire, safety and pollution control (as applicable) should be attached along with the questionnaire.

6 - ZONAL RAILWAYS

b) The nominated Zonal Railway should be in operation for at least above-mentioned three years (2003 - 06).
c) Certificates to the effect that the nominated Zonal Railway is presently following all the statutory requirements pertaining to the fire, safety and pollution control (as applicable) should be attached along with the questionnaire.
