We invited, the users to send technical papers on the issue given
below:
"Issue # EE 01:
Why do companies buy boilers with a low thermal energy efficiency?
Because looking at life cycle costs is uncommon. Some are not
so sure what the thermal efficiency means, and perhaps tender
documents are not suitable to select the most cost effective
boiler.
Tell us your ideas about improving tender documents."
We had a good response of 12 papers submitted. Contributions had
been extensive and comprehensive. One lesson learned is that there
seems to be a desire not to answer the question: "why do
companies buy boilers with a low thermal energy efficiency?" or
"to tell us ideas about improving tender documents".
Instead too many scientific papers of certainly high value, what
boiler efficiency means or how to calculate it, were submitted.
We therefore award a first, second, third prizes. No prize for
worst paper will be given since most papers simply missed the
point of answering in a focused way to either the question
, or the request for information.
We encourage more participation and will in the future award a
first prize (Rs. 5,000), second prize (Rs. 3,000), third prize
(Rs. 2,000).
The awards for Issue # EE 01 declared are as follows:
1. Mr. Kishore Rajhansa, First prize (Rs.
5,000)
2. Mr. P R Chari,
Second prize (Rs.
3,000)
3. Mr. P P Damangaonkar Third prize (Rs.
2,000)
Congratulations to all winners.
